Assembly Operative
Description
Are you good with your hands?
The Job, Company & Team
This is a temporary contract with, all being well, the potential to secure a permanent contract after a period of time. You’ll be working on a bench assembling a variety of doors using workshop tools, hand tools and power tools.
You’ll be on a pattern of night shifts: Mon to Weds 1500 to 0300, Thurs 1500 to 1200 and 1500 to 2100 on a Friday. Friday is paid at overtime which is time and a third. The rate is £10.00 - £10.50 per hour (range depends on experience) and you’ll be paid on weekly basis.
The Company is a well-established family business that has been growing consistently since 1976; they specialise in architectural doorsets and ironmongery for a variety of sectors. They look after their team and invest time to up-skill those who want to develop. It’s an impeccably clean and modern site with plenty of parking available.
What do you need?
You will need experience in assembly – ideally a couple of years – and it’d be fantastic if you know your oak from ash or you have experience working with wood (but it’s not a deal breaker if you don’t!). You’ll be a reliable, self-starter who is keen to learn and progress with the Company. And that’s it!
Due to the location and the shift patterns, having your own vehicle isn’t a must but is recommended, unless you live very local.
